Thanks to Olena Maistrenko, the phrase "from the positive" has found a place in our company, Media-Key.

This idea has become a kind of “standard” for us, a way to keep each other in check when someone starts spiraling into negativity. In fact, I don't know about others, but I've adopted this approach in my life, and even taxi drivers get a dose when they start talking about how "awful everything is."

I tell them, "Sure, things can be bad, even terrible, but it’s not total doom! Let's talk from the positive!"

So here’s my advice:

  1. Bring the “from the positive” approach into your own life.

There’s always something beautiful, joyful, or good out there! The main thing is to notice it, recognize it, and focus on it. Most of us have cameras on our phones, so snap a picture of something beautiful when you see it. Share jokes, stories, and funny moments with each other! In short, share "from the positive!"

  1. There’s no such thing as a hopeless situation. It can be hard, even very hard.

This means you need to find a way out of tough situations—there’s no other option. And yes, the real work of thinking through problems, not just catching fleeting thoughts but actually working through them, can be thrilling. This isn’t a joke; it’s a proven fact. Our students, alumni, and workshop participants know this well. Find people like yourself who want to live fully rather than just survive, and dive in together! Come up with the most unexpected yet brilliant solutions. We’re planning to kick off the next season of online OSA seminars, where we’ll tackle real-life challenges with collective brainstorming. If you’re interested, sign up! And if you have a problem that needs a creative solution, sign up all the more!

  1. “This too shall pass.” Classic? Cliché? Sure.

But sooner or later, everything happening right now will indeed pass. And you need to be ready to leap into the future. So, let’s think, talk, and plan for a future that’s meaningful, engaging, and filled with purpose. Surround yourself with people who, on the one hand, understand the present, but on the other, are ready to look toward the future.

  1. I try to minimize contact with people who spread fear and constantly talk about disasters. I recommend the same for you.

You’re not going to change them, and in a tough situation, their negativity only adds weight to your own. Do you really need that? Isn't your own load heavy enough?

  1. Everyone is dealing with something difficult right now, and things are often going off the rails, not going as planned.

It can be exhausting, both mentally and materially. Can you change something? Change it! If you can’t, maybe it’s for the best... People, take care of yourselves! Work, do what you can! Be creative, dream, and turn your dreams into projects and plans. In short, create, and that will bring the “from the positive” feeling—I promise 😉 !

Hugs to all of you!
