Summer and time

What is time? Rarely does anyone ask such a question. Time runs, time flows, time has passed. It seems clear, and there’s no reason to ask questions.
When traveling, especially by car, it’s noticeable that the journey from home to the destination always feels longer than the return trip. But why is that?
Time is perceived very differently in childhood than in adulthood. Why?
And today, August 1st, I suddenly felt the sensation of summer vacations, which immediately after the school year seemed endless and boundless, with a whole summer ahead!!!!
Indeed, time lazily rolled over each day, each day filled with many delights and adventures, unexpected surprises, and the anticipation of miracles. After all, going to an ice cream café with parents is a miracle! And evening plans for the next day were so numerous that they couldn’t possibly fit into a single wonderful summer day. I don’t know about you, but I could even smell the flowers and grass.
I grew up in a huge old courtyard in Odessa, in the middle of which there was a garden that we, the children, took great pleasure in caring for, growing flowers, sprinkling sand on the paths, and enjoying the summer. But suddenly, on August 1st, everything would change. On one hand, there was still a third of the vacation left, but on the other hand, the end of the summer adventure was already visible, along with the necessity to go back to school and change routines, leaving the construction of a huge hut and gardening unfinished. :)
August 21st is my birthday. And that was already the “third signal in the theater,” soon the curtain would rise, and a new life would begin, wonderful in its own way but already filled with cares and responsibilities. And you know what? From August 1st to August 21st, time would already rush by, no matter how much we tried to stretch it with activities; our thoughts were already turning towards school, and we thought more and more about what awaited us.
Wishing everyone a happy end to summer! Time is indeed an interesting concept!
Wishing you all a good mood!!!!
Tatiana Budantzova!
